Dale Rubia “Hancock” Linneweber, age 73, of Vincennes, Indiana, passed away on June 24, 2026. She was born on February 19, 1953, in Linton, Indiana, to Robert and Ruth “Carrico” Hancock. Dale fought a gallant battle against cancer with nothing less than a positive attitude. Dale lived her life with devotion to her faith and family, and a kindness that cannot be forgotten.
Dale graduated from Garfield High School in Terre Haute, Indiana, and later attended Beauty College. She began her working life as a beautician, where she shared her gentle spirit and care with others, and later devoted 15 years of service as a day care worker for KCARC. Dale was a person who would light up a room, no matter where she went. In each role, she was known for her patience, warmth, and the genuine interest she took in the lives of those around her.
On February 14, 2010, Dale married her husband, Joe Linneweber. Their marriage was a source of companionship and joy. Dale was a jokester, usually at the expense of her husband. Many enjoyed teasing her, but she had a way of coming right back at you. Dale treasured those around her deeply and found great happiness in the time she spent with them.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Linneweber; her children, Daniel Dillon and Stephany Dillon; her grandson, Hayden Dillon; her step-children, Chris and Danielle Linneweber; her siblings, Howard Hancock, Julia Berry and her husband Mike, and Kyle Headly and her husband Raymond; and many nieces and nephews who will remember her with love. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Stephen Dillon; her parents, Robert and Ruth “Carico” Hancock; and her brother, Bobby Hancock.
Dale was a faithful member of Wabash Community Church and drew strength and comfort from her faith throughout her life. Dale was extremely talented at creating flower arrangements for her church or anyone who wanted one. She loved to paint and won many awards, a talent she attributed to her mother, who was self-taught and passed on her skills. Dale was a true Christian and read her Bible cover to cover. Her faith guided the way she treated others.
Those who knew Dale will remember her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She carried herself with grace and left a lasting impression on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will be cherished by her family and all who were touched by her life.
The family would like to thank all of her doctors and nurses, especially the oncology staff at Good Samaritan Hospital, for their love and care over the past two and a half years.
