The U-S Geologic Service has registered two minor earthquakes early this morning in southern Illinois.
The first was just over a 3.0 magnitude quake in just south of Olney. The epicenter was just east of Illinois State Route 130. The other was three and a half miles northeast of West Salem, Illinois—or due west of Gibson County. The second quake had an estimated 3.5 magnitude on the Richter scale.
Neither of the quakes caused any damage.
