The City of Vincennes is readying itself for a magnificent celebration of America’s 250th birthday on Saturday, July fourth. With the expanded celebration, the Vincennes Police Department will also be out in full force.
Vincennes Police Chief Jon Hillenbrand says it’s all hands on deck throughout this weekend. Hillenbrand also reminds everyone an intersection near the Wabash River downtown will not be open to through traffic.
The main activities will be the annual Fourth of July parade at six p-m, and a fireworks show at dusk over the Wabash River. The City is sponsoring the fireworks display; they expect to spend nearly double the usual expense on this year’s fireworks program.
