Saturday night’s Vincennes fireworks were postponed after the fireworks related death of Bob Johnson of St. Francisville, Illinois.
Johnson, 73, had organized and conducted area fireworks displays for many years.
He also served 50 years with the Denison Fire Protection District in St. Francisville.
Knox County Coroner Joe Millspaugh Jr. says Johnson died late Friday at Good Samaritan Hospital’s Trauma Center after a fireworks-related incident in Lawrenceville, Illinois.
An autopsy Sunday found he died from a traumatic brain injury suffered while setting off commercial fireworks.
Illinois law enforcement and regulatory authorities continue to investigate.
