A second solar proposal has received preliminary approval through the Knox County Council. Officials from Lucky Point Solar got the preliminary approval for a 250 million dollar, 17-hundred acre site near the White River in Harrison Township. The land would be along Lucky Point Road between State Road 61 and Petersburg Road.
Developers told County Council members they want the project to start in December of 2028, with completion by December 2030. The group also runs two other solar facilities– one each in Pike County and Posey County. They are seeking a 75 percent tax abatement on the project over ten years. Council members will hold a public hearing on the project at their meeting on August 11th.
