The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says lettuce imported from Mexico and served at select Taco Bell restaurants in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and West Virginia has been identified as the source of the outbreak. Federal investigators traced the lettuce to a single supplier, though officials have not released the company's name. The Food and Drug Administration is working to determine whether any potentially contaminated lettuce remains in the food supply. Taco Bell says it has stopped using lettuce from the supplier identified during the federal investigation. More than 30 states have reported cyclospora infections this year, with cases now exceeding the previous U.S. record set in 2019.
