The U.S. House has approved a bill that would end the twice-a-year clock change by making daylight saving time permanent. However, its future looks very bleak in the U-S Senate at this point.
Under the bill, Americans will no longer change their clocks each spring and fall. However, at this time, Senate members have called the House-approved bill “dead on arrival.”
Supporters say keeping the same time year-round would eliminate the disruption caused by changing clocks and could improve health and safety.
Opponents worry darker winter mornings could create new safety risks.
