Virginia Elizabeth “Parish” Mincey, age 72, of Vincennes, Indiana, passed away on July 20, 2026, in the same city where she was born on August 30, 1953. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was marked by devotion to her family, kindness to others, and a warm spirit that touched many.
Virginia married the love of her life, Robert Mincey, on September 27, 1969, and together they built a life centered on family and love. She was a devoted homemaker and also worked as a housekeeper for the Lodge of Wabash, where she was known for her dependable nature and kindness to those around her. Those who knew her best will remember her as someone who took pride in caring for others and in making her space a place of comfort and welcome.
Family was the heart of Virginia’s life. She is survived by her husband, Robert Mincey; her children, Robert Mincey II (Lisa), Jamie Mincey (Jamie R.), Tausha Carpenter (Jerry); and Scott Mincey (Ashley); her 12 grandchildren; her 15 great-grandchildren, with three more on the way; and her siblings, Susan Sterns, Robert “Bobbie” Parish II, and Karen Sue Parish. She was deeply proud of her family and cherished every moment spent with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her great joy.
She was preceded in death by her father and stepmother, Robert and Hazel Parish; her mother, Patricia “Smith” Parish; and her sisters, Sharon Schuller and Barbara Carver. Their memories remained close to her heart throughout her life.
Virginia enjoyed the simple pleasures that made life meaningful to her. She loved bingo and found happiness in the excitement and fellowship it brought. She especially loved her grandchildren and treasured time spent with them. She also loved her horses and dogs, and she found peace in gardening and tending to her flowers. In quieter moments, she enjoyed playing Tetris, a pastime that reflected her playful and spirited nature.
Virginia was also a life member of the VFW Auxiliary and a member of the Moose Lodge #281. Her involvement in these organizations reflected her sense of community and her appreciation for service. She will be remembered for the genuine care she showed to those around her.
Her life was a testament to love, family, and perseverance. Virginia Elizabeth “Parish” Mincey leaves behind a legacy of devotion and cherished memories that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
There will be a visitation held on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Home, Vincennes Chapel. A service will follow at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Mike DeCoursey. Burial will conclude at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
