One week after central and eastern Indiana were plagued with excess rain and major flooding, the waters are now reaching this area.  The White and Wabash Rivers have been rising, and will start topping out this weekend into early next week.

The White River at Edwardsport will see the first crest level today, at five feet over flood stage.  Petersburg and Hazleton will also see river levels hit five feet over flood stage tomorrow.

The Wabash at Vincennes will have until Wednesday, August 26th to see a crest at four feet over flood stage.  The Wabash at Vincennes is forecast to stay in flood stage until a week from today, on August 29th.  At Mount Carmel, the Wabash River will hit three and a half feet over flood stage on Wednesay, August 26th.

People in low-lying areas near those two rivers should use their flood precautions over the next couple of weeks.  Authorities also remind you not to drive in areas will floodwaters cover the roads.
