Officials Praising Better Sidewalk Access Along Hart Street

Vincennes traffic is working through various improvements on Hart Street from Veterans Memorial Drive to the U-S 41 interchange.  The work was completed in early August—just as kids were going back to school.

INDOT spokesman Gary Bryan feels one of the biggest advantages to the project is the work Vincennes officials did before INDOT did their part.  Bryan also believes the smoother walkways are a major benefit to those walking along that stretch of Hart Street.

That stretch is part of a plan to create a pedestrian loop. That loop would use sidewalks on Hart Street and Main Street to connect the Vincennes Riverwalk to Clark Middle School and Lincoln High School.
