The Lawrence County, Illinois Board voted Thursday to approve an ordinance for a two-year moratorium on data centers.

It also stipulates that any application submitted to the county for a data center at least 10,000 square feet in size will not be accepted.

The two-year moratorium will allow the county to learn more about data centers and their impact on communities.
