The new basketball courts at Lester Square were dedicated with a block party over the weekend. Various tournaments and fund-raisers highlighted the restored court to the southern Vincennes neighborhood park.
The group Uplift Knox County was the main driver behind the construction. Uplift Knox County’s Allie Bobe remembers a time when Lester Square was a happening basketball destination, With that in mind, Bobe feels that Lester Square is the perfect place to put the emphasis on community activities,
Lester Square also contains the City’s updated skateboard facility, along with health and fitness equipment, and activity equipment for children.
