If you’ve driven the I-69 bridge over the White River, you’ve passed a sign bearing the name of Washington-born Lt. Colonel Don C. Faith Jr.

Historian Randy Mills will share his story at the Daviess County Historical Society Museums Veterans Day Program, this Sunday at 2 p.m., at 212 East Main Street in Washington.

Faith served with the 82nd Airborne in World War II, then fought in Korea.

In 1950, near the Chosin Reservoir, he was mortally wounded leading an attack on an enemy roadblock.

He received the Medal of Honor.

His remains were identified decades later, and he was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery in 2013.

The public is invited.

A parade follows at 4:00.
